ACT Human Rights Film Festival relies on the generosity and dedication of volunteers like you to make the festival and all our affiliated events run smoothly.

Note: volunteers are required to sign a waiver each year. ACT will provide copies of the waiver at the start of your first shift.

Opportunities & Benefits

Volunteer Opportunities at the Festival

  • Theater Set-Up & Operations
    Volunteers will assist festival staff with setting up festival. Note this is likely to involve some physical labor such as lifting and moving equipment such as tables and chairs. Volunteers will then help with theater operations including ushering, ticket-taking, etc. On-site training provided.
  • Theater Operations
    Volunteers will assist festival management with guests and festival operations including ushering, checking tickets, theater setup/strike, etc. On-site training provided.
  • Film Reception Assistance
    Volunteers will assist festival management with guests and festival reception setup and management including, directing guests to reception space and checking credentials at the door. On-site training provided.
  • Festival Information & Box Office
    These volunteers will serve as points of information for people attending the festival. This is a customer service oriented position and volunteers will help patrons with festival questions. Volunteers in the position will also help manage the comp and Will Call ticket distribution. On-site training provided.
