Call for Student-Produced Short Films

Fort Collins, CO, Feb. 1, 2017– This year, the ACT Human Rights Film Festival introduces a new student filmmaker section focusing on themes related to human rights. The top short films will be screened on the closing day and receive cash prizes.

Student filmmakers are invited to submit an original short narrative fiction, documentary, or animated film for selection in the film festival. Submissions must be 10 minutes or less. Films are accepted now through March 7, 2017 at filmfreeway.com or actfilmfest.org.

The ACT Human Rights Film Festival seeks to awaken, connect, and transform individuals and communities. Student short film contributions in this festival helps celebrate excellence in the field of socially conscious cultural production.

Entries must be from students living in the Western Region of the United States. Submissions must include a brief synopsis.  Entrants must send a photocopy of a current student I.D. to lindsey@actfilmfest.org. Films in languages other than English must be subtitled in English.

The student filmmaker section includes juried awards and cash prizes. First place, $500; second place, $250.
