ACT Human Rights Film Festival My Experience as an Intern
My name is Miguel Banuelos-Garcia and I am a Communication Studies major with a minor in Legal studies graduating Spring 2020. During the Spring 2019 semester I had the opportunity to be an intern for the ACT Human Rights Film Festival, which is a program of the Communication Studies Department at Colorado State University. This unique experience has allowed me to be feel connected with the department, developed adequate skills that are transferable in different career paths, and learn organizational management techniques. As an intern I was able to understand how sponsorships operated, communicated with faculty and staff members within the College of Liberal Arts regarding their sponsorship, witness how contributions help this event happen, and also be able to attend events that allowed me to engage with community members. The ACT Human rights Film Festival exposes world issues that many people may not be aware of, and I am grateful that I was able to be a part of such great experience. If you are looking for an opportunity to enhance your learning experience within the Communication Studies Department this leadership opportunity might be right for you.
